Las Olas Boulevard is about to get a bit flashier.
Weston Jewelers, the family-owned South Florida luxury retailer, has announced plans to build a five-story flagship store in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale — a 40,000-square-foot showcase for diamonds, Swiss watches, and other high-end jewelry.
Slated to open in 2027 at 1117 E. Las Olas Blvd., across the street from the popular Latin-Asian fusion restaurant Casa Sensei, the new store will feature several floors of retail space, a private bridal studio, custom jewelry design, and a rooftop restaurant overlooking the city. A press release from the company promises a “world-class shopping experience” and “exclusive access to limited-edition pieces.”
“We are beyond excited to build our new flagship location in the heart of Downtown Fort Lauderdale,” Ed Dikes, cofounder of Weston Jewelers, said in the release. “This dream has been years in the making, and we’re so grateful to our incredible team and loyal clients whose support has helped make this possible. We look forward to becoming part of the Las Olas community and continuing to build meaningful relationships in this new luxurious location.”
Wife and husband team Tracey and Ed Dikes founded Weston Jewelers in 2001. The couple opened their first boutique in Weston Town Center before expanding to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood. The Las Olas outpost marks the store’s biggest expansion yet.
Photo renderings promise a glitzy, glass-heavy structure that stands apart from the rest of Las Olas’ old-town Florida and Mediterranean revival style. According to the Sun Sentinel, Boca Raton-based development firm Equistone Development Inc. will build the structure using architectural designs by Arquitectonica, the Miami firm behind the likes of Brickell City Center, Kaseya Center, and Hard Rock Stadium.
Currently, a white, one-story building with storefronts for Blue Ocean Yacht Charters and the longtime tailoring shop Stychin Time sits where the Weston Jewelers building will eventually rise.
Broward County property records show that in July, the Dikes family purchased the 1117 E. Las Olas Blvd. property, as well as a property directly behind it at 221 SE 12th Ave., for $7 million.
Whether the 221 SE 12th Ave. property will be incorporated into the new jewelry store remains to be seen.
Editor’s note 10/20/25: This story has been updated to reflect that Kip Hunter, who represents Weston Jewelers, contacted New Times following publication to inform us that “the plans have changed, and it won’t be possible to have the rooftop restaurant.” Added Hunter: “There will be a café there instead.”
