Traffic Armageddon: Trump and Ultra Music Festival Come to Town

Buckle up, Miamians.
Ultra isn't the only thing causing traffic hell in Miami this weekend.
Ultra's sustainability program has set a goal to keep the Biscayne Water flowing through Bayfront Park unaffected for the past 6 years.

If you think traffic is bad enough during Miami Music Week and Ultra Music Festival, just wait: it is going to get a lot worse.

When the first day of Ultra kicks off on Friday at Bayfront Park in downtown Miami, President Donald Trump will be at the Faena Hotel and Forum delivering the closing address of the Saudi Arabia-backed Future Investment Initiative (FII) Institute Priority Summit. Both events will cause major traffic impacts and road closures for drivers in and around Miami Beach and downtown Miami.

The Miami Beach Police Department says drivers on Friday may experience traffic impacts in Mid Beach as early as 9 a.m. with “intermittent and extended” road closures between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

“Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and consider alternate routes, including the MacArthur Causeway or the 79th Street Causeway,” the department posted on Instagram. “These closures will primarily impact residents entering the city, and motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly.”
