In today's roundup of horrible things and other news: a tourist couple is robbed at gunpoint, a 15-year-old is fatally shot in Overtown, an 11-year-old is accidentally shot by his own mother, and two people are found hanging in a South Florida park.
A couple from Mexico vacationing on South Beach were robbed at gun point in their hotel. The couple returned to their room around midnight at the Parisian Hotel in 1500 block of Collins Ave when they found two men in the process of burglarizing their room.
One of the robbers pulled a gun on their couple and took their keys, cash and some personal belongings before escaping.
Police are looking for the couple's car, a brown Dodge Avenger with Texas plate number BBW 914. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. [Herald]
