“Hey, baby. Are you ready for my football?”
I trust some of you remember the news that Miami will host a team in the innagural season of the Lingerie Football League very, very well. Perhaps you’ve dreamt of it, fantasized even. Well, now those liquid dreams are shaping into a solid reality.
The LFL has sort of a wacky set up as far as sport goes (though, I’m sure no one will be harping on competitive integrity). They’ll play a 20 week season, but there’s only game each week, and with 10 teams that means each franchise only plays four times, and only twice at home.
Breaking update after the jump
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,250 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
The Miami Caliente will play the first ever LFL regular season game against the Chicago Bliss in the Windy City on Septmeber 4th, 2009. On October 2nd they’ll again be away taking on the NE Euphoria, and they’ll finally come home on Nov. 13th against the Atlanta Steam, and again on January 22nd against the Tampa Bay Breeze.
No home arena has been announced as of yet, but it probably won’t be anywhere near Sunny Isles.
The team will be announcing the BankAtlantic Center in Fort Lauderdale as their home turf.
