Yesterday we learned that after Gov. Rick Scott spearheaded a law requiring all welfare recipients in the state to undergo drug testing, only 2 percent of people who have taken the test since the law went into effect July 1 have failed. That's compared to about 8.16 percent of the general Florida population that uses drugs. Rachel Maddow is none too pleased and last night on her show said the law is nothing more than anti-poor prejudice.
Maddow replays a clip from CNN in which Scott claims people on welfare use drugs at a higher rate than people who aren't on welfare. Well, after his "mass examination of Floridians' body fluids," that doesn't seem to be the case.
