News flash: Old white guy confuses KKK with NAACP.

So, is veteran TV reporter Michael Putney uncomfortable with the sight of two black candidates running for Miami-Dade County mayor?

A factual error made by the newsman while serving as moderator at a political debate suggests that possibility.

While rephrasing a comment made by José "Pepe" Cancio, Putney substituted the acronym for the hangman's faction with that of the famed civil rights organization.

Putney knows the proper quote well. He even used it as the basis for a Miami Herald editorial

column he wrote. Maybe no other local news teams noticed, but candidates

Carlos Gimenez, Marcelo Llorente, and Julio Robaina caught the gaffe. But, politicans through and through, they kept

their mouths shut.

Luckily, we got it all on video, along with

talk about Rick Scott being a dope-head, audience member Commissioner

Marc Sarnoff, and Uzis.
