Former NFL linebacker Nick Rogers died in a car crash early yesterday morning at the age of 30. The Atlanta Constitution-Journal reports Rogers perished in a one-vehicle accident after his car veered off the road into a power pole in College Park, an Atlanta suburb. It happened around 1:30 a.m. Monday.

Rogers had married his girlfriend of about ten years just a month ago.

Rogers was a standout defensive end during his years with Georgia Tech and then was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2002. He played two productive seasons as a linebacker there. Rogers was traded to a string of teams in 2004, eventually landing with the Miami Dolphins in 2005. He played only three games with the Fins and is credited with one assist.
