$7,500

It was Sun Tzu who suggested that “if you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles,” but apparently Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jim Naugle never read The Art of War, or much of any thing else that matter.

Naugle has most certainly made an enemy out of the GLBT community by his ludicrous fight for a $250,000 robotic toilet that he felt would reduce man-on-man toilet action (uh, do George Michael or Bob Allen live in your town?), labeling The Sun-Sentinel as the The Rainbow Sentinel, and now for his support of Amendment 2.

The Advocate called Naugle for a comment on his support for the amendment that would ban gay marriage, and he called back thinking that the magazine was a legal publication. Actually, it’s the oldest gay magazine in the country. Whoops. Next time take the five seconds to Google it, Jim, before you jump at the chance to warble your talking points to anyone who will listen.
