Murder Miami Style: Three Shot, One Dead in Design District Attack

Three men were shot and one killed on NW 44th Street early this morning, just a few blocks from the trendy heart of the Design District.

Around 1 a.m., two men walked up to a house at 40 NW 40th St. and sprayed the three victims with bullets before fleeing the scene, says Det. William Moreno, a spokesman for the Miami Police Department.

Emmanuel Brice, a 23-year-old who lived a few blocks from the shooting, was pronounced dead on the scene, Moreno says.

The other two victims are at Jackson Memorial Hospital; their injuries aren't considered life-threatening, according to Moreno. Police aren't releasing any details about the other two victims yet.

Brice has only a minor criminal record, according to Riptide's records search. He was arrested for misdemeanor battery this past March 15 and had an earlier loitering charge dropped.

Anyone with info about the shooting should call police at 305-471-TIPS.
