Just after 11 AM, Riptide encountered this minutes-old accident on Arthur Godfrey Road between Sheridan and Pinetree Drive. From what a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue paramedic who declined to give his name told us, an elderly man driving a Toyota Yaris (he's pictured after the jump, with a paramedic touching his head) strayed into the lane to the right of him and hit the wheel well of the Toyota Corolla- also driven by an older man, pictured wearing the giant shades and baseball cap- next to his car. The Yaris instantly flipped over and travelled almost 50 feet on its roof.
The Yaris landed in front of a full bus stop, turning the scene of the accident into something resembling a gabbing tea party. Fortunately, everybody involved appeared to have escaped without serious injury (FYI, the red liquid leaking from the car in the final photo is engine fluid, not blood). Click on for more photos. When you're done with that, here's some totally unrelated reading.
