Christopher Tyrie Brantley, 19, is behind bars today after allegedly stabbing a puppy to death with a kitchen knife. The Broward man suffers from a mental illness according to CBS Miami.
Brantley allegedly got a hold of a kitchen knife and stabbed the young pup numerous times. The dog died as a result of the injuries. The incident occurred in Brantley's home near the 600 block of Southwest 28th Terrace in Fort Lauderdale.
He was arrested yesterday on charges of causing cruel death, pain, and suffering to an animal.
CBS Miami reports that Brantely suffers from a mental illness and told the judge that he had spent six days at the Henderson Mental Health Facility. It's unknown what illness he suffers from.
Brantley's bond has been set at $10,000.
