This is what happens when the right tries to go left.
In one of those “had to be in Miami” moments, Republican presidential candidate John McCain’s tour bus was involved in an accident at 55th and Biscayne Boulevard.
When we heard the new here at the New Times, we thought it was a prefect example of why states should yank a senior citizen’s rights to drive after the age of 70. Then we learned 71-year-old McCain wasn’t even on the bus, in fact, he wasn’t even in the state — disappointing, we know. According to the Herald, the only people on the bus were the driver, Sen. Joe Lieberman and an aide. Lieberman, a Democrat, has actually endorsed McCain.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If Miami New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.
But it’s Lauren Reskin, who submitted the picture above, who says it best, “Seems like the Straight Talk Express has problems going left literally and figuratively.”
No word from Babalu if the accident was the work of Castro’s agents hoping to thwart McCain’s campaign and guarantying Barack Obama’s success come November.
