Want to own a picture of Marilyn Monroe’s chest in a way you’ve never seen it before? Luckily for you, an image of the iconic star’s famous breasts will be up for auction this June, and it’s not X-rated. It’s x-rayed.
The x-ray images were believed to be taken at the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Miami (the same hospital where Bob Marley died and is now the location of the University of Miami Hospital) in November 1954. They were shot about a month after Monroe separated from Joe DiMaggio and was believed to have suffered a miscarriage. The doctor kept the x-ray set for several years and used it to teach students. After the doctor passed away, his children inherited the x-rays and have decided to put them on the auction block.
The chest x-ray will be up for grabs at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino Las Vegas June 26 and 27 and is expected to fetch $3,000 to $5,000. Three pelvic x-rays will also be offered.
