Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You
We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
It’s worth noting that a man who doesn’t believe a woman has the right to chose what she does with her own body is being supported by a man who brought us such songs as “Dick Almighty” and “The Fuck Shop.” It’s also worth noting that neither Luther Campbell or Julio Robaina can spell each others names correctly.
Robaina’s campaign sent around a flyer earlier this week advertising the Mayoral candidate’s event at Moe’s Bagel Deli in Aventura. The flyer managed to include words like “Governer” (as in Governor Jeb Bush) and “Thomas” as in (Miami Mayor Tomás Regalado). It also referred to “Special Guest of Honor” Luther Campbell as “Luther Cambell.”
According to Naked Politics, today Campbell responded by sending out a text and Twitter message telling his supporters to vote for a “Robaino.”
Campbell also added “You have to care about all people to be the Mayor” in the misspelled message. Robaina, by the way, does not seem to care appear the GLBT citizens of Miami.
