Well, there's one Miami football team that's still in the playoff hunt: the Lingerie Football League's Miami Caliente.

With a 2-1 record and an upcoming game against the Tampa Bay Breeze, the Caliente could find themselves in Lingerie Bowl VII. Unlike last year's debacle in Tampa Bay, South Florida has no problem with hosting hot chicks in bras, panties, and shoulder pads playing with pigskin, and the playoffs and big game are set for the Seminole Hard Rock Casino during Super Bowl week.

The Caliente would play the undefeated Chicago Bliss in the Eastern Conference championship February 4. Then the big game is set for February 6. Tickets go on sale through Ticketmaster today at noon, but if you're at work, we recommend you wait until after you get home.

Keep Miami New Times Free... Since we started Miami New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Miami, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
