Last week, Jeb Bush’s possible Senate conquest seemed like all but a sure thing, but today The St. Pete Times has declared its status as “iffy.” Bush is expected to make an official statement soon, possibly by week’s end.
Jeb Bush seemed more intent on saving the GOP than serving Florida, and The Times hears from insiders that he may not want to sacrifice his consultant gigs and time with his family for a full time career in Washington. Coupled with the widespread sentiment that Bush may not have the temperament to be the most effective legislator, he may instead choose to pursue some other path to help his party (*cough* run for RNC chair, Jeb.*cough* Everyone currently running is a complete idiot. Wait, actually don’t. Let them have their idiot.).
