Could former Florida Governor Jeb Bush be following in the dainty footsteps of other conservative figures like Tom Delay, Tucker Carlson, and Bristol Palin, and strapping on a dance belt for a run on Dancing With the Stars? Probably not, but the former Governor says he’d never rule it out.
Of course, once an embattled former House Majority Leader like Delay appears on the show, anything is possible, but Bush made the remarks as a way to explain his stance on running for President.
“I don’t anticipate [running for President in 2012], you never say never. This is a standard answer that I’ve kind of learned how to give which is — you never say never, but I[‘m] never ruling out being on Dancing with the Stars either,” Bush told Fox News host Sean Hannity in an interview scheduled to run tonight. Excerpts from the interview were released to The Buzz.
As for the current crop actually running for the GOP nomination, Bush somewhat dismissively compares them to the group seeking the Democratic nomination in 1992 before pointing out that one of those guys actually won.
“If you recall my dad in 1992 had a approval rating that was double what President Obama has right now and he was running against the seven dwarfs I think …And one of those dwarfs became President… dwarf, you know President Clinton.”
