Rawrrrr
Apparently there’s another kitty in the Magic City with a name pronounced Raina, and much like New Times‘ own sexy-time columnist, this one seems to encourage folks to let their freak flags fly.
You’re going to have to go to the NBC6 video page to meet Miami Metrozoo‘s Ron Magill, who took the channel along as doctors checked out the jaguar before they moved her and another big cat to a new exhibit, “Amazon & Beyond.” If Animal Planet is looking for a replacement for The Crocodile Hunter, Magill certainly proved his worth with his spirited description of big-cat mating habits.
“People think, Oh, you’re going to put Reina and Palenque together and they’re going to be a happy little couple and be happy. No, no, no, no, no! Jaguars are solitary animals. So jaguars will be kept separate until she cycles. Jaguar love, if you know what I’m talking about,” purred Magill, who then proceeded to let out a drawn-out “Rawrrrr” — the kind normally associated not with actual jaguars but with men wearing jaguar-print briefs.
The new exhibit opens December 6.
