Jack Barouh, a 65-year-old Golden Beach man, pleaded guilty to tax evasion charges related to the probe of Swiss bank UBS. His attorney blames it on the Holocaust. 
Barouh’s parents apparently evaded the Holocaust, and Barouh claims that because of this, he had a compulsion to hide his money in case another similar situation should happen again, according to the Associated Press
This is either a really sad story or a pretty desperate exploitation of one of the biggest tragedies in human history to try to excuse blatant greed. Or maybe both.
