The gunman who reportedly entered the Miami Herald building this morning was taken into police custory at about 2:30 pm, reportedly with no shots fired.
The Herald covered the story as it unfolded within its own building and reported that the man was identified as Jose Varela, a cartoonist for the El Nuevo Herald who was terminated last February. Varela had barricaded himself in the office of El Nuevo Executive Editor Humberto Castellï¿½, the paper reported.
