In a market rife with eye-watering estates for bank-breaking price tags, a recently listed Palm Beach property previously owned by the son of fashion designer Guccio Gucci may just be the flashiest South Florida mansion for sale.

The 14,469-square-foot estate, located at 1491 N. Ocean Blvd., resembles a Mediterranean palace carved from the dense South Florida jungle. And while the property features the opulent designs and artisan furniture you’d expect a fashion scion to collect, the mega-mansion is actually the handiwork of its most recent owners: the family of the late Frank and Maureen Wilkens, who bought the land for $13.9 million in 2002 and completed the compound in 2005, according to Realtor.com. Frank was the co-founder of Wilkens and Nanovic, a Greenwich, Connecticut-based pension fund management firm.

Aldo Gucci, the eldest son of the eponymous fashion mogul, owned the property in the ’90s before Wilkens bought it and built the estate that stands today.

Christian Angle of Christian Angle Real Estate is the listing agent on the oceanfront property, a 4-acre slice of South Florida paradise with 230 feet of linear access to the Atlantic Ocean. It’s about half a mile away from the Palm Beach Inlet to the north and 2 miles from the Palm Beach Country Club to the south.
