The family that grows drugs together takes mugs together.
Over in Charlotte County, Sheriff's deputies have arrested a mother, father and son after they discovered that the family was growing psychedelic mushrooms.
According to a Charlotte County Sheriff's Department release, deputies arrived trying to locate the one family members who apparently wasn't home: a second brother who had a felony warrant out. 20-year-old Joshua Lee Mudge answered the door and told police that his brother no longer lived at the address.
That might have been it, but then Mudge gave deputies permission to come in and look around. That's not a good idea, when, well, you know, your entire family is growing mushrooms together.
Deputies noted that the house reeked of marijuana smoke and spotted "several funnels, buckets, empty glass jars, a propane torch and sandwich bags." Mudge tried to explain that they were for a school project and asked the deputies to leave. Deputies complied but quickly obtained a search warrant.
They removed Mudge from the home but he allegedly became combative and struck one of the deputies with a closed fist. Mudge got tasered, but still tried to kick and punch deputies as they put him in handcuffs.
