Florida Minimum Wage Rises a Whopping Four Cents

The federal government decided to raise the minimum wage, and it supersedes Florida's old rate. So beginning today, the minimum wage in the Sunshine State rises four cents. That's a total of $7.25 an hour.

If you work 40 hours a week for 50 weeks a year, that increase comes out to an even $80 a year. Which means you can afford the first two seasons of Big Love on DVD or a complete extra remote for your Wii. Every little cent helps though.
