Police are investigating a late-night incident inside a Miami Beach Taco Bell in which Love Island USA alum Yulissa Escobar was allegedly struck in the face.

According to a Miami Beach Police Department (MBPD) incident report obtained by New Times, the 27-year-old said she was waiting for her food inside the Taco Bell Cantina on Washington Avenue around 4 a.m. on December 29 when a man began making inappropriate remarks toward her, telling her, “You look good.” (Escobar told TMZ that she and a friend had gone to the fast food restaurant after leaving LIV Nightclub).

Escobar told officers she ignored the comments and continued waiting for her order. Moments later, a woman who was with the man approached Escobar and struck her in the face. The report notes that Escobar couldn’t recall whether she was hit with an open or closed fist.

“Officers observed slight bleeding on Ms. Escobar’s right ear,” the report (attached at the bottom of this story) reads.

According to the report, Escobar said the couple fled the restaurant in a white Mercedes-Benz and headed southbound on Washington Avenue.

MBPD spokesman Christopher Bess confirmed to New Times that the department is investigating the incident and attempting to obtain surveillance footage from the restaurant. No arrests have been made.

“It doesn’t matter [Escobar’s] status or celebrity,” Bess tells New Times. “Hopefully, our investigation can lead to some arrest or positive resolution.”

Escobar, a Miami native, was announced as a contestant on Love Island USA’s seventh season in late May.

“Straight from Miami and headed to the villa! She’s all about kindness, connection, and staying true to who she is,” read a caption for Escobar’s Instagram post announcing her arrival on the show. “We can’t wait for you to get to know her heart, her humor, and everything in between.”

However, she abruptly exited the show during the second episode after an online clip surfaced that appeared to show her repeatedly using the n-word. Posted by TikTok user @celebsnapz, the video, which is no longer available, appeared to show Escobar repeatedly using the n-word while appearing on a podcast. (Note: New Times has not independently verified the footage.)

“You fuck my nigga, perfect, but that’s it,” she says. “Like, now I’m fucking my nigga. He’s my nigga. Like, bye, bitch.”

Producers offered little public explanation for Escobar’s departure from the popular reality TV show.

This is a breaking story and will be updated as events warrant.
