A video tip sent to the Department of Children and Families led to the arrest of 19-year-old Elizabeth Garcia over the weekend in the Florida Keys. Investigators say they were sent a video of Garcia trying to beat her 2-month-old child with a slab of concrete.

Luckily, before the young mother could strike the child, two men nearby were able to stop her. The alleged attack occurred August 18. The video was sent to DCF, and Monroe County Sheriff's Office deputies went to arrest Garcia this past Friday in Marathon.

When deputies arrived, Garcia pulled out a knife and threatened to stab them. At that time, the officers had not even mentioned the video and attempted murder.

Garcia now faces charges of child abuse, attempted murder, and carrying a concealed weapon.
