Chicago Bulls fans’ biggest wet dream involved hometown boy Dwyane Wade suiting up in their version of black-and-red next year. We think it’s unlikely to happen, but on the off chance it does, Wade might already have some bad blood with a teammate.

Bulls rookie Taj Gibson complained to ESPN that the refs let Wade get away with some ungentlemanly play when our man hit him after the whistle in the third quarter.

“It was a dirty play,” Gibson said. “Dwyane and a couple other guys undercut me. I was just [mad] because the referee saw it, and he just asked me, ‘Are you OK?’ I was like, ‘Am I OK?’ I was just [angry].”

“I just learned how to control my anger because I’m a rookie. I’m not going to explode on anybody at that time. I felt like exploding at them because that was a dangerous play. The play was over for at least a minute, minute and a half. He just ran up on me.”

Will you step up to support New Times this year?

We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If Miami New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.

$30,000

As future poet laureate Nicki Minaj would say: “These bitches so cranky. Give ’em a hanky.”

Welcome to the big leagues, Gibson. If you can’t stand (bad pun warning) the Heat, get out of the kitchen.

As for Chicago’s Dwyane Wade fantasies: Again, we don’t think it’s going to happen. Besides, for at least two more decades, that town can live off the pride of what Michael Jordan did. Trust us — we’re still desperately holding on to the Dolphins’ ’72 season.
