Alligator Alley may be one of the country’s most boring drives, unless, of course, you happen to be joy riding in a stolen BMW while drunk. That’s what Miami resident Richard Jouel Abraham allegedly did yesterday, but now he’s sitting in the slammer.
Abraham, 35, stole a black 2006 BMW from a crash scene on I-75 near mile marker 31 in Broward County yesterday, according to The News-Press. Its not known whether Abraham was involved in the original crash.
He then high-tailed it out of there in the stolen Beemer and made it all the way to miler marker 86 in Collier County. That’s when Florida Highway Patrol troopers pulled him over.
Abraham turned out to be rather drunk, FHP says, and he was arrested.
He now sits in a Collier County jail accused of DUI, Grand Theft Auto, and, just for good measure, driving on a revoked license.
