Don't Throw Concrete at Miami-Dade Cops Unless You and Your Dog Want to Get Shot

We know that if you threaten the safety of a local police officer, they will probably shoot you. If you instruct your dog to attack them, they will probably shoot the dog. So it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise by now that a bizarre traffic stop that went out of control left one homeless man with a bullet in leg and a dog dead.

The incident occurred when a female officer pulled over a car in a routine traffic stop near 56th Street and Northwest 22nd Avenue in Brownsville. 56-year-old Jack Scott, a homeless man, was pushing a shopping cart nearby when he decided to get involved.

"I hate fucking cops," he yelled and started to throw rocks and a large chunk of concrete at the officer.

The officer retreated back into her patrol car and then drew her gun. Her first shot missed, but her second landed in Scott's leg. Then Scott started to approach the three people in the car she had pulled over.

Despite being shot in the leg, Scott attempted to walk away with his shopping car, but was eventually arrested by other officers and taken to the hospital.

The incident caused a scene, and several people gathered around. Charles Woodson, 26, was standing in the crowd with his dog on a chain leash. Officers told Woodson to leave, but he refused to.

He then let the dog off of the leash and ordered the dog to "get him," referring to an officer.

The dog attacked the officer, and started biting him in the abdomen. The officer shot the dog, which was killed by the bullet.

Woodson was charged with resisting arrest and aggravated battery on a police officer. Scott  was charged with two counts of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon and throwing a deadly missile.
