Check your calendars and grease up your gears — or point your car in the opposite direction if you’re not of the spokes-and-pedals crowd. It’s the last Friday of the month, which means hundreds of cyclists in Critical Mass will roll through city streets at rush hour tonight.
The ride’s first 2016 edition will take the two-wheeled set north through Little Havana and then all the way up to 79th Street before hooking east and then turning south along NW 12th Ave. through Liberty City. Riders will pedal all the way through Wynwood before landing back at the starting point at Government Center.

Organizers, as always, are urging riders to respect the game by avoiding sidewalks, emergency vehicles, and fights with motorists.
And, drivers, consider yourselves warned: If you can’t handle a monthly mass bike ride slowing traffic for a few minutes, figure out another route to where you’re headed tonight.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $18,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
