To the surprise of no one, President Donald Trump and his fans have found several ways to plaster his name in places where countless eyeballs will be forced to see it. The latest move in this marketing blitz will see his name take place of the Palm Beach International Airport, turning it into the President Donald Trump International Airport.
Reporting byThe New York Times indicates Trump is breaking tradition by forcing his name on federal buildings, battleships, and initiatives while still in office, while every other president had to wait until they’d been out of office for at least a year (or many years in most cases) for others to bestow the honor.
While many of the Trump-stamped buildings are in Washington D.C., his name is multiplying across South Florida. Trump’s favorite Florida sycophant Gov. Ron DeSantis Monday signed into law a bill that will officially rename the airport in West Palm Beach, which is in close proximity to several other buildings and infrastructure converting to Trump’s name. New Times is keeping track of the Trump name as it attaches itself to every South Florida surface it touches like the goop from The Cat in the Hat.
This list notably excludes Trump-branded hotels and golf courses littered across the South Florida landscape and the up-and-coming Donald J. Trump Presidential Library, since the structure isn’t even under construction at this point.
South Florida Places Named After Trump:
President Donald J. Trump Avenue was among the first streets renamed to bear his name in South Florida, specifically Hialeah. Commissioners in 2024 approved a resolution renaming a 4-mile stretch of Palm Avenue after Trump.
President Donald J. Trump Boulevard is a 4-mile portion of Southern Boulevard that connects the soon-to-be President Donald Trump airport to his golf kingdom of Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach. The change became official in January after DeSantis signed the bill into law June 2025.
President Donald J. Trump Highway will soon be the name of State Road 80 in Palm Beach County, which is the name of the full 123-mile road of which President Donald J. Trump Boulevard is part. State Road 80 runs from Fort Myers in the west to Palm Beach in the east, while President Donald J. Trump Boulevard is the 4-mile portion at the eastern terminus of the larger highway.
President Donald J. Trump Drive is one on the list which will soon be erased because Lauderdale-by-the-Sea town commissioners apparently felt having two similarly named roads in their 1.5-square-mile town would be confusing. Just wait until you see the next entry.
President Donald J. Trump Boulevard will soon be the name of yet another South Florida street, not to be confused with the previously mentioned road by the exact same name. This D.J. Trump Boulevard will take the place of Commercial Boulevard between West Tradewinds Avenue and Ocean Boulevard in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea in Broward County. The bill will become law in July pending DeSantis’ signature.
President Donald Trump International Airport (DJT) is the latest renaming approved by officials. While several other airports bear the name of presidents (like John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington D.C., George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, and Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport in Springfield) none of the names were preceded by their presidential title — likely because none of them felt the compulsive need to have the structures bear their names while in office.
