While facing up to life in federal prison after being found guilty of sex trafficking in New York, Alexander brothers Alon and Oren are still in the middle of criminal cases stemming from alleged sexual assaults in South Florida.

A New York jury last week convicted Tal Alexander, 39, and his younger twin brothers Alon and Oren, 38, of federal sex trafficking crimes in a high-profile case that the world watched with rapt attention. Tal and Oren were well-known in Miami and New York City as brokers for luxury firm Douglas Elliman Real Estate before allegations of sexual crimes dating back to 2010 started piling up from more than 30 women beginning in 2024.

U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Jay Clayton described the verdict as the result of 11 brave victims demonstrating that the brothers conspired to lure, drug, and rape women repeatedly.

“These are chilling, reprehensible, and unacceptable acts,” he said in a statement. “We commend the victims for their courage in coming forward and testifying at the trial. They bravely overcame the pain of reliving the abuses inflicted upon them and, as a result, prevented others from becoming victims.”

And while the federal case in New York is nearing its end with a sentencing hearing scheduled in August, the twins still have sexual abuse allegations to face in South Florida. Alon faces one state criminal charge of sexual battery by multiple persons in Miami-Dade County, while Oren faces two charges of sexual battery and one of sexual battery by multiple persons. Both Alon and Oren are also being sued on sex trafficking and human trafficking allegations in South Florida’s federal court.

Miami Battery Assaults

The twin brothers’ next South Florida court dealing appears to be set for April 15, in Florida’s 11th Judicial Circuit Court under Miami-Dade County Judge Lody Jean. The hearings are set for Alon’s one charge and Oren’s three, according to court records.

An arrest affidavit for Alon penned by a Miami Beach Police Department officer describes an assault that allegedly occurred in December 2016. After the victim and suspect met in New York, he invited her to a barbecue at a Collins Avenue apartment. The victim told police that while at the apartment, the twins and a third man locked her in a bedroom and assaulted her, according to the affidavit.

The suspect led her to a room where two apparent maids were working; they exited after giving the victim, identified as M.W., a look of concern. The third man held M.W. down while Oren and Alon took turns raping the victim, according to the affidavit. Then, they told M.W. to take a shower, which she suspects was done to get rid of the evidence, according to the affidavit. After the men allowed her to go to the elevator to leave, Alon ran up to M.W. and ordered her not to tell anyone what took place, according to the affidavit. Police charged Alon and Oren with sexual battery by multiple persons.

Police initially accused Ohad Fisherman, an associate of the brothers, of the same crime in this incident but later dropped the charge after Fisherman provided a timestamped video showing he was on a boat at the time of the alleged crime.

A third man was initially charged along with the brothers. But after he provided video footage showing him on a boat at the time of the alleged assault, prosecutors dropped the charges against him. He is now suing the Miami Herald, the Real Deal, WPLG Local 10, and WSVN 7 News for defamation, asking for more than $50,000 in damages, according to court records filed last week in Miami-Dade County.

Oren also faces charges in two other alleged assaults.

The first, according to an arrest affidavit, allegedly took place October 2017 and began when he messaged the victim on Instagram. The victim, identified as S.M., agreed to go with the suspect and a friend out to dinner, followed by a real estate event in Hallandale Beach, then a trip to a bar (where she reportedly had one cocktail). S.M. told officers she reluctantly agreed to go with the suspect alone for a glass of wine at his Miami apartment, where the alleged rape took place.

There, Oren allegedly asked if S.M. wanted to put on his virtual reality goggles. As S.M. was wearing them, he began unzipping her dress and pushing her into a bedroom, where she remembers feeling her strength wane until she couldn’t move; that’s when the assault occurred, according to the affidavit.

“She expressed that she felt stressed because she could not move or speak,’ the affidavit reads. “Upon noticing the victim crying, subject Alexander told her, ‘Stop it, we’re having great sex. You’re ruining it.'”

The second assault allegedly took place in October 2021 in Miami Beach, according to an arrest affidavit. The victim, M.G., met the suspect at a group dinner where he asked if she wanted to go home with him via car or vessel. M.G. chose the boat and found herself at a mansion on Flamingo Drive. She initially was comfortable with the suspect’s flirtatious behavior and reciprocated, leading to the two kissing, the affidavit says. M.G. then told the suspect she wanted to be reunited with her friend who accompanied them to the home, so he agreed to help find her while giving a tour.

The two sat down on a couch, where the suspect took off the victim’s shoes and began kissing her, which is when M.G. started to feel uncomfortable and began to pull away. She attempted to leave the home, only to realize the doors were only accessible via remote. She returned to the suspect to ask him to let her out. The suspect then pushed her onto a bed, held her down with his knees, and began masturbating on top of her while using his other hand to sexually assault her, according to the affidavit. Ultimately, M.G. ran downstairs, reunited with her friend, and left immediately.

Federal Court Lawsuit

In a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court Southern District of Florida by Miami Beach resident Tiffany Rodriguez, the twins are accused of drugging and sexually assaulting the then-21-year-old woman in a 2016 encounter, according to court records. The lawsuit alleges the twins used a far-reaching network to coordinate their sexual assault crimes. According to the complaint, their network included individuals from Basement Miami, Miami Beach Edition, Douglas Elliman Real Estate, and Kent Security Services, owned by Orly and Shlomo Alexander (the brothers’ parents).

“Plaintiff consumed fewer than two drinks before feeling severely unwell and struggling to stay awake at the nightclub,” the lawsuit reads. “Given the few drinks she had, Plaintiff knew this feeling was unusual and recognized that she had been drugged. Plaintiff has no recollection of further events at Basement Miami that evening, and only fragmented memories of what followed.”
