Mike Maunder, executive director of Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, is leaving his job and heading to Abu Dhabi to be the director of botany and landscapes at Al Ain Wildlife Park and Resort, a 2,000 acre property being developed for $1,000,000,000. Miami may have the most expensive zip code in the country, but Abu Dhabi is the richest city in the world!

Simple folks are scared of the Arab world because they think they’re going to fly 10 planes into a Lake Wales area Steak’n’Shake any moment now. Wake up people! The new Arab “threat” is that they are stealing all of our best botanical directors, slowly crushing us with their oil riches, and building designer, man-made islands and underwater hotels to rub it in our face.

Whatever, at least Barack Obama will have a nice garden area to visit when he goes home to visit his best friends and secret Arab family or whatever it is they’re saying now.
