A stately ocean-side mansion in Palm Beach has claimed the top spot on this week’s list of most expensive homes in the U.S., topping ritzy residences across some of the nation’s most coveted communities, according to Realtor.com.

At $89 million for 8,259 square feet of interior, 102 Reef Rd. is much smaller than other estates on the top 10 list. But with six bedrooms, eight-and-a-half bathrooms, a four-car garage, beachside cabana, and a resort-style pool, there’s plenty of space to stretch even the most lavishly dressed limbs.
The Palm Beach home tops two other South Florida listings, a $49.9 million mansion in Las Olas Isles at No. 5 and a $42 million compound in Hillsboro Beach at No. 10.

C. Steven Duckner, a retired Goldman Sachs partner and famous racehorse breeder, currently owns the colonial-designed home. Duckner and his wife Melissa purchased the property for $6.2 million in 2011 and completed the mansion in 2014, according to Realtor.com. The home and its decor are the epitome of soft-spoken luxury, compared to some of the louder and flashier homes in South Florida. While its simple elegance is the perfect fit for anyone wanting to live a Ralph Lauren lifestyle, it’s also the perfect canvas for a redesign.
