Traffic construction had long been a primary source of Miami migraines. And, with the wear and tear of millions of daily drivers, at least a handful of Miami-Dade County's 5,500 miles of public roads are likely to be under repair, repaving, or total reconstruction at any given time.

But don't be daunted by the orange signs and constricted thoroughfares, New Times has assembled a list of 10 Miami-Dade construction projects likely to cause headaches this week.

County officials advise motorists to find alternative routes for each of the following construction sites, largely for resurfacing, signage installation, and construction of ADA ramps and crossings.

Work here includes modifications to the current traffic signals. The county is adding pedestrian signals with push buttons, sidewalks, and ramps. NE 2nd Avenue from NE 20th Street to NE 36th Street

Work here encompasses roadway reconstruction, a new stormwater system, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, decorative lighting, and landscaping. Construction crews will install an approximately 4,600-foot-long water main line. Work is expected to be complete by September.
