"After 13 years, hundreds of bands, thousands of events, hundreds of thousands of back-and-forth emails, Gramps in Wynwood is closing," the post opens.
Since opening in 2012, the venue has served as a community anchor in an increasingly commercialized neighborhood. With its two stages — the open-air patio and the intimate room inside Shirley’s — Gramps welcomed everyone from local garage bands to touring acts, spanning indie pop, metal, hardcore, poetry, and drag.

Owner Adam Gersten broke the news on Instagram, assuring fans that this won’t be an abrupt goodbye. "This will be a celebration, not a funeral," he said, calling on anyone who's ever played a show — or dreamed of it — to be part of the farewell run.
And if you want to keep a piece of Gramps with you after the closing, t-shirts are available on their website.
If you've moshed, danced, cried, or blacked out during a noise set at Gramps, now's the time to dig up those old flyers and blurry videos. They want your memories. And if you've still got one more show in you, hit their inbox.
Gramps, 176 NW 24th St., Miami; gramps.com. Closing the first week of January 2026.
