As creator of the Silos, Walter Salas-Humara has played with guitar in hand for nearly twenty years and in that time has recorded an impressive discography. Back in the Eighties, The Silos’ sound matched the tones of Americana acts such as Los Lobos, X, and R.E.M., helping to define the flourishing alt-country genre of today. After a nonstop fall tour with the Silos, Humara, an ex-Fort Lauderdale resident, plays his old stomping grounds this Wednesday. And, as with any Florida expatriate, we gleefully celebrate his return, only to talk smack when he leaves us again.
