Awesome New Republic's popularity seems to just keep growing and growing. With Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester covering their track and the release of their EP Rational Geographic Vol. 1, the Miami duo seem to be on the cusp of making it as a national act.

Speaking of Rational Geographic Vol. 1, Pitchfork just posted the video for the single "Digital World" on its website. Check it out! The production values are the highest we've seen in a while for a Miami artist not involved in hip-hop. This is second video to be release off the EP; "Magic City" was release earlier this year.

And in case you weren't aware, the EP is available free for download via anrmiami.com. If you can't get enough of the boys, Rational Geographic Vol. 2 will be available July 21, while Vol. 3 will be released October 27 -- all presumably free, of course.

Keep Miami New Times Free... Since we started Miami New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Miami, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Miami with no paywalls.
