Miami loves Victor
Calderone, his big-room tribal house beats and energetic pop diva
remixes for the likes of Madonna, Beyonce, and Whitney Houston are
exactly the sort of thing that gets Miami's mainstream nightlife set off
at the club. The Brooklyn-based DJ/producer had an auspicious career
start back in the early '90s when he and then-partner Joey Beltram (a
rave era legend in his own right) got signed to Sire records during
their short-lived techno collaboration Program 2.
During the late
'90s Calderone would continuously top the Billboard Dance Chart,
including #1 slots for the hits "Give It Up", "Beat Me Harder", and his
massively successful remix for Sting's "Desert Rose" which spent an
impressive 80 weeks on the charts. After his famed residencies at clubs
Roxy in NYC and Liquid in Miami Beach, Calderone has continued to enjoy
international DJ renown and still gathers huge crowds for his energetic sets, like the one he'll be throwing down at Gryphon nightclub
at the Seminole Hard Rock on Saturday night.
