It’s already laudable that a band as prolific as the Roots can find time to put out one album after another while working five days a week as the backing band on NBC’s Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. But the fact that these releases continue to push the boundaries of hip-hop, rock, and jazz is enough to convert even the most stubborn Roots crew doubter.
This Saturday, catch Questlove, Black Thought, and the rest of the Roots (sans Fallon) for a performance at the Adrienne Arsht Center’s Knight Concert Hall, featuring selections from the group’s new concept album, Undun, as well as deep cuts from its sprawling, virtuosic rap-rock songbook.
