After the U.K. punk revolution, we needed a break. Because when the anarchy ended and the dust settled, the world realized something: We were sad.

That's when the Cure came along. The four-piece schoolmates from Crawley, West Sussex, England, tapped into a long-neglected nerve in music fans across the globe. And even though the Cure's sound eventually brightened up, to this day, when most folks think goth rock, they think the Cure.

Frontman Robert Smith is the only remaining member of the group now, but he was always the heartbeat of the band anyway as the principal songwriter.

Yesterday it was announced that the Cure would embark on its first North American tour since 2008 because, guess what, we're still sad. And we need someone to be the sweet soundtrack to our tortured souls.

The tour will take the kings of goth to 22 North American cities for 27 shows starting May 11. The band's openers for the tour will be the Twilight Sad.

And the Cure's second-to-last gig of the tour is happening right here in Miami, at Bayfront Park Amphitheater.

Presale tickets for the show go live this Friday at 10 a.m., and general-public tickets go live Saturday, November 14, at 10 a.m. via Livenation.com. Prices range from $29.25 to $129.25 plus fees.

And you best be waiting right at 10:01 a.m., because these tickets are sure to drain quicker than the joy from your eyes once you realize that true love doesn't exist.
