It’s getting to be that spooky season, where it’s socially acceptable to be masked, dripping with fake blood, and revealing all kinds of flesh in the spirit of Halloween. While the kids are out trick-or-treating and wholesome folk are supposedly bobbing for apples, here are some of the best Halloween parties for adults taking place throughout South Florida.

Halloween Night of Covers at Las Rosas

No original songs are allowed on this spooky night, which will also feature a costume contest featuring “killer” prizes and a fortune teller who will tell you your future. Among the acts playing are Las Nubes channeling the Go-Gos, Black Sabbath by the Creature Cage, the Breeders/Pixies by Deaf Dorothy, Celtic Frost by Tyrants Circle, Buzzcocks by Gordo y Los Semilla, and Patti Smith by Moni Musique. 10 p.m. Friday, October 31, at Las Rosas, 2898 NW 7th Ave., Miami; lasrosasmiami.com. HaloWYN Block Party at Wynwood Marketplace

Billing itself as Wynwood’s official Halloween block party, HalloWYN promises “costumes, beats, and a whole lot of eerie energy”.

The night kicks off at 7 p.m. and goes to 3 a.m. in the morning. The event is free, but they do offer a three-hour open bar ticket from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. for $45. 7 p.m. Friday, October 31 at Wynwood Marketplace, 2250 NW 2nd Ave., Miami; Admission is free with $45 open bar option via eventbrite.com.

Lincoln Road Halloween Block Party at Lincoln Road

From 5 to 7 p.m. costumed kids are encouraged to trick or treat around the pedestrian mall. But as the sun goes down at 8 pm, things become a lot more adult-oriented in what is advertised as “one of the largest, most spooktacular parties in the country”.

Stranger Treats & Beats is conjuring up a Halloween experience at Mana Wynwood, from October 30 to November 1. Inspired by Stranger Things, this massive new festival transforms the venue into a cinematic playground of art, sound, and spectacle.

The LoveCats at Gramps Getaway

A seaside port off Virginia Key might be an unlikely spot for a Cure cover band, but that’s where you’ll find the LoveCats, the Miami-based Cure cover band, on Halloween night. The Mars Volta at Fillmore Miami Beach

Perhaps not a traditional Halloween party, the Texan prog-rock band duo have a sound that could fit a haunted house. For the fourth year in a row Perreo del Futuro presents their reggaeton dance party, Perreo Apocalíptico. This year the event falls on Halloween night.
