Ten Best Music-Related Things to Do in Miami This Weekend Under $10

Remember when we

bragged about how our NCAA bracket was a lock

? Yeah, we may have jinxed ourselves.

Both Michigan State and Florida State are out; we had them playing each other in the finals. Now Kentucky and Kansas need to lose just so we can finish in third place in our office pool.

Needless to say, we're strapped for cash until April 2. And this week, we're balling on a budget, keeping our music-related outings under $10.

Mike Dece 1996 Album Release. With Metro Zu and Denzel Curry. Friday, March 30, 8 p.m., Sweat Records, 5505 NE Second Ave., Miami. Free. Support local music, y'all. Pick up swaggish rapper Mike Dece's latest. While you're at it, buy other neat shit from Sweat.

Nil Lara. Friday, March 30, 10 p.m., The Stage, 170 NE 38th St., Miami. $10. What, rock 'n' roll with an Afro-Cuban influence? Yes, please.

Fridays at the Vagabond. With Little Beard. Friday, March 30, 9 p.m., The Vagabond, 30 NE 14th Ave., Miami. Free before 11 p.m. After Critical Mass cyclers takes over the streets of Miami, they pop into the Vagabond for $1 PBR tallboys and $5 vodka cranberries. On our budget, that's either 10 beers or two stiff cocktails.

Tobacco Road's 100th Anniversary Countdown. With Johnny Dread. Friday, March 30, 10:30 p.m., Tobacco Road, 626 S. Miami Ave., Miami. $5. Get high on 100 years worth of great, Tobacco Road fun this weekend when legendary reggae man Johnny Dread rolls through Miami's oldest cabaret stage.

R.A.W. Friday, March 30, 5 p.m., Ricochet Lounge, 3250 NE First Ave., Miami. Free. Get your happy hour on with cheap drinks and priceless people. That sounds Hallmark-y.

Miami Chumbucket Presents. With Nailbiter, Recreant and others. Saturday, March 31, "6ish," Beelzebub's Cave, 164 NW 20th St., Miami. $5. It's sure to be a real nail-biter when South Carolina's Nailbiters rage at the cave.

Spoken Soul Festival 2012. SWAN Spoken Soul Showcase. Saturday, March 31, 6 p.m., The Moore Space, 4040 NE Second Ave., Miami. Free. Show women artists your support and actively participate in SWAN Day.

¡Suénalo!. Saturday, March 31, 10 p.m., PAX, 337 SW 8th St., Miami. $10. Celebrate PAX's anniversary with your favorite local world fusion group.

Birdstock. Saturday, March 31, 7 p.m., Tropical Audubon Society, 5530 Sunset Dr., South Miami. $10. Original local music takes center stage at the Doc Thomas House at Tropical Audubon Society this weekend. Pack a light dinner and load up on $2 beers.

April Fool's Day Concert. Sunday, March 30, 9 p.m., Churchill's Pub, 5501 NE Second Ave., Miami. $7. There's nothing funny about this shit, it's a full-blown minifest with seven local bands and one Messed up Show.
