Summerfest 2009 is going down next month at the American Airlines Arena, and it has some of hip-hop and R&B's biggest names on the bill. Ne-Yo, Akon, Flo Rida, and T-Pain are all confirmed to perform on August 22. If you're looking to get good seats, you'd better prepare to shell out a small fortune though. Lower bowl tickets are going for $349 before fees, and you can't get in the door for under $50. For fans of at least two of the acts though, you can justify the price by adding up how much it would cost to see them separately. That or sell a kidney. They're doing quite well even in this economy. Hit the jump as always to sample the goods, or click here for tickets.

Keep Miami New Times Free... Since we started Miami New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Miami, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Miami with no paywalls.
