According to Shakira, hips don’t lie. If social media has the same level of truthfulness, then you’ll have the opportunity to witness the Colombian singer’s hips in action on December 27 and 28 and now the 29 at Hard Rock Live, as this morning Shakira’s Facebook and Instagram accounts announced, “After this incredible year on tour, I’m ending 2025 with two intimate shows in Florida! See you December 27 & 28 at the Hard Rock Live. Let’s make this end-of-year unforgettable!”
Shakira sold out the much larger Hard Rock Stadium this past June for two nights. Her performance had New Times raving. Our review described, “Her choreography was as precise and vibrant as it was in the mid-2000s, and her boundless energy, raw physicality, and emotional intensity mesmerized the throngs. She performed more than 20 songs over the 90-minute set, weaving in iconic classics and new hits.”
Nicknamed “the Queen of Latin Music”, Shakira is the best-selling Latin artist in United States history. Starting her recording career as a teenager, it was her 2001 album, Laundry Service, that made her a breakout international pop star, selling more records than anyone can count. In 2006, she topped the U.S. pop charts with “Hips Don’t Lie.”
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $16,750 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
Her newest and twelfth album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, came out in 2024 and made Shakira the first woman with number-one albums across four decades on the Billboard Latin album charts. Her most recent single has a family-friendly vibe as it’s part of the soundtrack of the new animated Disney sequel Zootopia 2. She performed and co-wrote the original English-language song “Zoo” with Ed Sheeran and Blake Slatkin. The video has some kind of horned mammal, maybe a gnu or gazelle, dressed like Shakira as she sings, “We’re wild and can’t be tamed/ We turn the floor into a Zoo-ooo-ooo.”
It’s unclear presently how or when you can purchase the tickets for the two December Hard Rock Live dates, but have your credit card ready at any moment, because if Shakira’s multitude of fans can sell out the stadium, this much smaller venue’s ticket supply will be out of stock with a quickness.
Shakira. 8 p.m. Saturday, December 27, Sunday, December 28, and Monday, December 29 at Hard Rock Live, 1 Seminole Way, Hollywood; 954-797-5531; myhrl.com.
