In this week's issue, we previewed Rachel Goodrich's appearance with Awesome New Republic at the Awarehouse on Saturday. Unfortunately -- or fortunately, depending on what way you look at it -- American Apparel will be hosting a rummage sale all weekend long at the Wynwood venue so the show has been moved to the Vagabond (30 NE 14th Street, Miami) Saturday night for its Back Door Bamby party. It's a bit unusual for the place to be hosting live music that night considering the party focuses on house music, but we definitely appreciate that it made some room for the displaced show.

Also on the bill that night is the usual serving of house music courtesy of DJ Lauren Flax along with the party's slew of resident DJs. Need more convincing? There is free Belvedere open bar from 10 to 11 p.m.

Keep Miami New Times Free... Since we started Miami New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Miami, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Miami with no paywalls.
