Last year, we told you how music producer Greg Wells (Katy Perry, Mika, Pink, Rufus Wainwright, Deftones, and more) had been working with local musician Rachel Goodrich on her follow-up to Tinker Toys. Recently, Wells tweeted an update saying, "The new @Rachel_Goodrich record is done!!! Can't wait for peeps to peep it." Does this mean new material from Goodrich is on the way?
Another looming question is, after working with someone as big as Wells, will it be getting a major label release? There aren't much clues or answers we could get from anyone, but having such a big producer back you up is bound to create some industry buzz. Then again, if Wells kept his promise of not turning Goodrich into the next Katy Perry, her sound won't be exactly pop either.

So many questions! Guess we'll have to wait and see. But according to her MySpace, Goodrich has an upcoming show August 21 at Ecco, along with the Jean Marie, which is just the incentive we need to see if she's going to debut any new material. The cover is $5; 21+ with ID; doors at 10 p.m.
