The annual Radio One pool party is almost eerily absent this year, but don’t worry about getting wrapped up in brand names. All of the superstar DJ talent will be here anyway, and Pete Tong will still helm it — they’ll just play under the banner of “Pete’s Pool Party.” It’s just one of two appearances for Tong during Winter Music Conference (the other is the 10 Years of Space party this Saturday), coming amid a set of dates throughout Europe. The BBC Essential Selection host has invited some of his most famous friends: Steve Lawler, Kaskade, James Zabiela, Mark Knight, Joris Voorn, and Chuckie. But it’s Tong’s job to break new artists to the clubbing mainstream, so he has also invited some slightly more left-field buddies: Tiefschwarz, Afrojack, Nervo, Heidi, and Aeroplane vs. Disco 3000 (Erol Alkan). Expect slippery fun with big beats and bigger pneumatic breasts at this poolside party from the Club Space crew.
