We were more excited this weekend about the upcoming long weekend plus all the Basel fun that will follow. Still there were a few things that caught our attention. So here is what you missed over the weekend:

Vivid Video Porn Star Ball at Cameo

Vivid Video sure gets around within the Opium Group. The porn production company hosted a bash not too long ago at Opium at the Seminole Hard Rock, but they moved the party further south this week at the newly reopened Cameo. Much like the Hard Rock party, porn stars were hard to find, but everyone still seemed like they had lots of fun. Click here to view the full slideshow.

Small Stuff at Bear and Bird Boutique

Art always seems like its only available to those who can afford it, but this week Bear and Bear Boutique debuted its newest exhibition, Small Stuff, which features affordable one-of-a-kind pieces. Click here to view the full slideshow.

Modernesque Burlesque Troupe at Respectable Street

In what seems is to be a quickly overcrowded South Florida scene, local burlesque troupe Modernesque made its debut this weekend at Respectable Street in West Palm Beach. Click here to view the full slideshow.

Auteur Explosion XI at Cinema Paradiso

Talent erupted at Auteur Explosion XI at Cinema Paradiso in Fort Lauderdale which featured performances by Soma, Sage and Tag, and the Shutter. Click here to read our full review.

Jackson Browne at Fillmore Miami Beach

Veteran rocker Jackson Browne didn't show any signs of aging when he performed at the Fillmore Miami Beach this weekend. Click here to read our full review.

Dashboard Confessional Secret Show at Propaganda

Fans of Dashboard Confessional must have been disappointed to find out it had canceled its fall tour. But South Florida fans were treated to a secret show Sunday at Propaganda in Lake Worth. Click here to view the full slideshow.

Keep Miami New Times Free... Since we started Miami New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Miami, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
