Record Store Day has become so popular that the annual April holiday for audiophile shopaholics has expanded to take advantage of the biggest shopping day of the year: Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, when early planners look to jump-start their holiday shopping. And so it is that Record Store Black Friday, shorthanded as RSD Black Friday, was born.
Just like the big day in April, Record Store Black Friday, which this year falls on November 28, will bring all manner of limited-edition vinyl, all of it unveiled on that day.
This year’s batch includes reissues of everything from the Rolling Stones’ Their Satanic Majesties Request to a Billie Eilish live EP to The Big Top Pee-Wee Original Soundtrack Album by Danny Elfman. To make the day even more special, local record stores are hosting a variety of activations.
Here’s an alphabetical list of what you can expect locally:
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $18,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
