Do you think you bear a striking resemblance to a certain individual named Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio — perhaps better known to you as Bad Bunny? Let O, Miami be the judge of that on Sunday, April 27, when it hosts its Bad Bunny lookalike contest.
It's all set to take place during "Poetry, Paperbacks & Piraguas," presented by O, Miami and Bookleggers Library. It's all part of O, Miami's monthlong festival, which encourages residents to engage with poetry throughout Miami-Dade County during the month of April.
The event will spotlight Puerto Rican culture with a reggaeton-inspired bash that includes free books from Bookleggers, poetry writing, a complimentary piragua (shaved ice), live music, and hands-on activities for the littlest poets. It will take place from noon to 4 p.m. at Roberto Clemente Park, an apt setting for a celebration of Puerto Rican culture.
The park is located in the northern expanse of Miami's Wynwood neighborhood, which has been historically home to the city's Puerto Rican community, earning the nickname of Little San Juan. However, ever since Wynwood's gentrification into an "arts neighborhood," the longtime community has been displaced, mirroring what is happening on the island and part of the central theme of Bad Bunny's latest album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos.
The lookalike contest will take place from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. To enter, all you need to do is show up — no advance signup required. A panel of judges, including Power 96's Ivy Unleashed, will choose the finalists, with the crowd ultimately deciding on the winner. The grand prize included bragging rights and a one-year membership to El Car Wash.
